New Myztery Album Coming in 2026!

Happy new year! It  has been a long time since I blogged! I hope you are doing well. We are excited to announce that we are starting to record a new Myztery album! This will be our 6th studio album and, Lord willing, we should be able to release it online sometime later this year. 

I am also in the process of writing a new rock song in the key of A - 432 hz. No title yet, just a rough idea of the song. I have resumed posting music and talks on TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and X. Lot's to keep up with! Please pray for us as we record this album. We hope it touches people and helps them to be aware of the love Jesus has for them. The first song is played on my dulcimer and is a fun party song!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Today I am typing out the lyrics to our Listen to the Heartbeat album which we released in 2015. There are 8 songs on the album. We recorded the album in our home studio in Chatham, Ontario and had it mixed and mastered in Vancouver, BC after we moved to Burnaby.

 We are in the holy season of Lent. It is a great time to go to the Sacrament of Confession, to fast, to pray, to help the poor. 

New Mobile-Friendly Website for Tempus Fugit Coming!

We will have a new mobile-friendly website of our album Tempus Fugit created. There are four songs on the album: Death, Judgement, Hell and Heaven. Each song is 15 minutes long. It is based on the near-death experience that Cyndie had when she was 13. Hell is based on the near-hell experience I had one month prior to my ordination as a Catholic priest. I went through three days of intense sorrow, despair and the temptation to commit suicide.

Rob Queen has finished one song for our upcoming album. We have decided to reduce the number of songs on the album from 17 to 10. Instead of releasing a double album, we will have a single vinyl album made by DMA Discs, based in BC and Ontario. I have recorded electric rhythm guitar for a couple of songs and our lead guitarist, Chris Rupert, has completed one song. Miles Hill, our bass player, has completed one song.

Myztery TikTok Live for 30 Minutes

Hello! Happy Ash Wednesday! Last night I did a 30 minute TikTok Live, playing three songs on the mandolin and acoustic guitar. I played Touch the Sky, Open Your Heart and Who Do You Say I Am?  

Cyndie operated our camera. I will do a TikTok Live once a week for 30 minutes. I will also do a 10 minute TikTok video that I will upload as well, once a week.

We received another request for a Myztery concert in Asia! So far, Asia is leading in the polls for Myztery concert requests! We need to get our passports :) Today I plan to record electric rhythm guitar and lead vocals for a couple of our songs for our upcoming album. 

There is a new bookstore in New Westminster, Collected Treasures, that will be selling our Myztery CDs as well as our books! Here is their website: https://collectedtreasures.ca  Mystical Rose Productions, which is our record label and production company, is being registered as a partner with Apple. We plan to get a MacBook Pro for our recording studio.

Recording Guitar and Lead Vocals

Hello! Today I will be recording rhythm electric guitar and lead vocals for a couple of Myztery songs. Miles Hill, our bass player, will also mix and master our upcoming album. We will spend 15 months recording this album. We started in March, so the finish date will be around May of 2026. We will release it as vinyl album, probably a double disc album, through DMA Discs, a totally Canadian company based both in BC and Toronto, Ontario. 

The photo today was taken by Tom Hawkins for our 2010 Cyber Superstar photoshoot. Tom will be doing the photoshoot for our upcoming album as well. Our drummer, Rob Queen, did a great job recording on the opening track of our album. One of the songs on the album is a song I wrote back around 1983! For some reason, I never got around to recording it, even though I released a number of solo albums as well as five Myztery albums.

Recording 12-String Acoustic Guitar

Today I will be recording 12-string acoustic guitar for one of the songs for our upcoming album. Rob Queen (drums) and I will be recording this Friday for a couple of songs, with Rob playing drums and I will be on electric guitar (rhythm). Today I pick up my Ibanez Gio guitar from Neil Douglas Guitar Shop in New Westminster. Mark changed my strings for me. I bought a second pair of strings in case I break another string.

Our monitor foam has been ordered from the Foam Shop in Burnaby and should arrive soon. They will raise our monitors so they are at ear level for me when I record and listen to the mix. Miles Hill will be mixing and mastering our upcoming album. Yesterday I began writing a new ROCK song! It will be on a future ROCK album by Myztery.

Radical Shifts Available as an ebook!

 

Today we added my memoir, Radical Shifts, to our online Myztery store as an ebook for $7. We will soon add Cyndie's memoir, Heaven ROCKS! as well. We are in the process of having Myztery Coasters made by our friend Leo. They are made of slate and will feature our Myztery logo on them. We will add them to our store when they are ready.

Tomorrow I am purchasing some foam as stands for our new studio monitors for our Mystical Rose Studio setup. We are getting them from the Foam Shop in Burnaby. They will custom design them according to the dimensions of our monitors. 

Miles Hill has completed the bass for one of our singles, which will be on a future album. I will record with Rob Queen (drums) on February 28th, for a couple of songs. I will record rhythm electric guitar.

Setting Up Our Recording Studio

Yesterday we purchased some Yorkville compact studio monitors from Long & McQuade in Vancouver. Our thanks to Chris Jaggers, who helped us select them! Today I will be setting up our recording studio in our home. We need to find a new place to play with our drummer, Rob Queen, as the room he had beside a church in Maple Ridge is no longer available for him soon.

We live in a small condo in Burnaby, so our large studio monitors took up too much space in our studio. Our new ones are about half the size of our previous ones. I sold our old pair to a guy coming out of Long & McQuade in Vancouver, so he was happy and I was happy! Our thanks to Chris Jaggers of Long & McQuade for his help in selecting the monitors.

I recently had to get a new phone because my old phone battery died and there was a problem with the charging port. The new phone has a far superior microphone, so our TikTok Live concerts sound really good now!

Rob Queen Joins Myztery as Our Drummer!

 

Myztery is thrilled to announce that Rob Queen has joined our band! Rob did play some live shows with us in the past, noteably the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in Burnaby and the Tom Lee Music Hall in Vancouver. We will start recording in February in preparation for our sixth album as well as getting ready for live shows.

The first song we will record is Turn Or Burn, a very fast and heavy metal tune. We will be recording in a studio in Maple Ridge. We plan to release our new album, which will be titled Love is the Answer, on vinyl. It will be a double album as there will be 17 songs on it. Welcome to Myztery Rob! Cheers!

Myztery Parousia Film to Be Released September 27th and 28th Online!

BREAKING NEWS!

On Septbember 27th and 28th we will be holding our Global screening of our Myztery Parousia film of 17 music videos on LinkedIn Live, (27th), Facebook Live (27th) and TikTok Live (28th). The film is based on the Book of Revelation, and particulary on the Second Coming of Jesus (Parousia) to the world. Tell your friends and mark your calendars! All screenings start at 7pm PST (Pacific Standard Time) and last until about 8:30 pm. 

The music ranges from ambient, spiritual, alternative rock, techno, easy listening and pop. All music was composed by Pete and Cyndie Mason (Myztery). This is our 5th studio album. We have decided to postpone the recording of our Love is the Answer album until 2025, so we can focus on the promotion of our Myztery Parousia events. We will be networking with our Myztery Stragetic Advisor, Natalia Pardalis as well as our Myztery Business Advisor, Sherry Shadman and others.

Two Christmas Songs Uploaded!

Hello! Yesterday we uploaded two Christmas songs I wrote a long time ago. They are from my solo album, A Saviour is Born. One song is called A Saviour is Born. I play guitar and Leslie Alexander is the lead vocalist. The other song is called The Bellman's Good Morrow. It is a Medieval poem. I wrote the music and sang the song. It will be available soon on Spotify and other platforms.

We will start recording our 6th Myztery album, Love is the Answer, in early January. The album will have 17 songs on it, a mixture of rock, pop, ballads, etc. The photo today is of my Gibson Les Paul guitar, which I sold a while ago. I now play a blue Ibanez Gio electric guitar with a whammy bar.

ROCK THE WORLD TOUR!

Hello! We are now on our Myztery ROCK the World Tour! This, for now, is a cyber tour on TikTok, Facebook, YouTube etc. Only two more videos to go and we will have completed our Myztery Parousia album. Yesterday I visited Bonsor Banquet Hall in Burnaby near Metrotown. We plan to hold our Myztery "Love is the Answer" album release concert there in the future. It seats 300 people and has a great stage.

In January we will start recording our Love is the Answer album. The first song is called LET'S MAKE SOME NOISE! and it it a total rocker song! We opened our concerts with this song during our tour across Canada from Vancouver to Ontario and our audience went wild!

Today I will perform our song Prepare the Way for our Myztery Live on TikTok and Facebook at 4 pm PST. Usually it is at 7pm PST every Thursday but we are going on a special date night today at 6 pm

Weapons of LOVE

 Hello! We recently promoted our music video Weapons of Love. I wrote the song quite a few years ago after watching the news about a Palestinian suicide bomber who blew himself up in Israel and killed quite a few innocent Jewish people. Having relatives in Israel, this news greatly saddened me and I turned to the piano to express my feelings. I wrote the song very quickly.

Cyndie, my wife, plays piano. David Sinclair did the lead guitar. Gino Gerussi is on drums and Miles Foxx Hill plays bass. Mixed and mastered by Commodore Barret. The current war in Israel that Hamas started made me want to reach out to the Jewish people at this challenging time with a message of love, hope and peace. The total number of videos for this album is 17. We plan to book Burnaby Hall Theatre sometime in 2024 for the screening of our album/movie. It will be a free concert!

Holy Week

Today is Holy Thursday. Tonight we celebrate the Mass of the Lord's Supper. The photo today is of our Myztery debut album. It was painted by Shawna Liles. I then ran it through a neon filter to create a unique effect. It shows the Heart of Jesus with the crown of thorns and the Blood and the Water gushing forth from his heart.

It shows the infinite mercy and love of Jesus for us, willing to die on a cross for us to save us from eternal damnation. At the top of the heart of Jesus is the cross, a symbol of our salvation. 

Tomorrow is Good Friday, followed by Holy Saturday and then Easter Sunday, the glorious day of Our Lord"s triumphant resurrection from the dead! When we were baptized, we entered into the death of Jesus and we rose with him in his resurrection. We have been given a new life in Jesus! We wish you a very blessed Holy Week and Easter!

Tempus Fugit - Time Flies, Remember Death

Tempus Fugit is one of our Myztery albums. It is a great album to listen to in this season of Lent, as it deals with Death, Judgement, Hell and Heaven. Lent is a time to remember that we will all die one day and face the judgement of God.

Each song is 15 minutes long. Death is based on the near-death experience of Cyndie when she was a teen. Hell is based on an experience I had about a month before I was ordained a priest in 1994.

Davide Di Saro did the video animations for the whole album and did an incredible job. May the Lord bless you as you journey this Lent towards the glory of Easter. 

Burnaby Hall Theatre Parousia Concert

We have a tentative date booked for our Myztery Parousia concert at Burnaby Hall Theatre: Saturday, November 25, 2023, which is the vigil for the Solemnity of Christ the King of the Universe. This date fits perfectly with the theme of that feast day, the Second Coming of Jesus. 

It will be a free concert, open to all ages. The theatre seats 120 people and has a giant screen that we will use to project 17 songs on, as well as play live during the songs on both sides of the stage. We will let you know when the date has been confirmed. We are planning to have Parousia t-shirts made as well as Myztery hats and perhaps some other merch.

We are in the process of building our Myztery Backstage group! This is a platform that allows fans of Myztery to support us in a variety of ways, participate in fun contests and much more. We will share more about this in the coming weeks and months.

Roll Up for the Global Cyber Myztery Tour!

Hello! Roll up for the Global Cyber Myztery Tour! ;) We are preparing for our first stop at the Burnaby Hall, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, November 25, 2023, the Vigil of Christ the King of the Universe. We will show our 17 song album, Parousia, on a giant screen and play live with it. Cyndie made amazing music videos for each song on our album.

Tomorrow I will take a tour of the Anvil Theatre in New Westminster, where we are planning a Bishop of ROCK CD release concert for Saturday, September 28, 2024 (My birthday!) It seats 361 people and is a beautiful venue. We will be working with a professional production manager for the first time as a band. Prior to that we have relied on friends and volunteers for costume changes, lighting, sound, etc. 

We are building a new Myztery website called Myztery Music. This will be for public schools and other venues. We hope to do a concert at the Vincent Massey Theatre in New Westminster, right beside NWSS (New Westminster Senior Secondary). I met a student from NWSS yesterday and she said we should hold a Myztery concert at that venue during school hours.

Let's Make Some Noise!

 Hello! Here is a photo taken when we had our home studio in Chatham, Ontario. I had my new blue Les Paul. I eventually sold that guitar to Long & McQuade in Vancouver in order to buy my Cannon digital camera. I loved that guitar but it was a little heavy. I now play a blue Ibanez Gio with a whammy bar. I love having a whammy bar.

Last night I recorded lead vocals for our song Let's Make Some Noise! I sent an Mp3 of the song to our lead guitarist, Chris Rupert, who lives in Chatham. He will come up with a solo for the song and email it to us. We will include this song on our upcoming Bishop of ROCK album. We will record the album at The Armoury studio in Vancouver, an awesome studio (Analogue) 2 inch tape. Cheers! 

Myztery Cyber World Tour!

Welcome to our Myztery blog! On Thursday we started our Myztery Cyber World Tour! We are livestreaming on Instagram and Facebook every Thursday at 7 pm PST (Pacific Standard Time), which is 10 pm EST (Eastern Standard Time). We will feature original Myztery songs, stories, comedy and more!

Once we hit 1000 followers on TikTok we will live stream on TikTok! We are close to 800 followers on TikTok as of today. 

Pictured today is a view from space of North America and Mexico etc. Today I will be recording a demo of our song Let's Make Some Noise, for our bass player Miles Foxx Hill to learn, as well as our drummer Gino Gerussi and lead guitar player Chris Rupert.
