Recording for Blood and Water Begins!

Hello!  Today we will begin recording our album Blood and Water.  The first song is called Consuming Fire.  It will be played on the classical guitar in drop D tuning.  I may get around to recording the vocals today as well.  I didn't have any concerts today so I went to noon mass at St. Peter's church in New Westminster.  Cyndie is working in Squamish today.

We bought a new set of studio monitor headphones yesterday at Long and McQuade and they sound amazing!  One Sunday this month we will have our Advent retreat at Westminster Abbey in Mission, BC.  Cyndie traded in her old car for another car that is easier to ride in on her many journeys.  I am planning to release my memoir, Radical Shifts, on February 22 of 2019.  This is the feast day of the Chair of St. Peter, so I thought it would be a good day to release my book :)

I made a good confession yesterday for the first week of Advent at Holy Rosary Cathedral in Vancouver and stayed for the 5:10 pm mass.  Please pray that I have the discipline to wake up and stay up and pray at 6 am Monday to Friday, which will enable us to get to daily mass at 8:15 am.  My mother is out of the hospital after having had two falls and bumping her hed.  She is happy at home now and has three caregivers, as well as the family, to look after her.  She loves having her cat with her as well.  Have a great day!

Launch Team for Radical Shifts

Greetings!  I have created a Facebook Group called Launch Team for Radical Shifts by Pete Mason.  You can join here:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/2187428531531123/  To join this group you agree to read my book, leave a review on day 1, share the book with friends, and support the launch which is scheduled for February 22, 2019.

You will get a free paperback copy of the book as well as your name in the digital book and be a part of something inspiring with the personal satisfaction of helping create something meaningful.

Tonight I am giving a talk on Our God is a Consuming Fire. It will be held at our charismatic prayer meeting in St. Francis de Sales church hall, 6610 Balmoral St., Burnaby, BC, 7:30 pm.  I will also be singing and playing guitar.  Hope you can make it out!

St. Therese and St. Faustina both experienced the burning love and mercy of God in Jesus and offered themselves as victims of love for the salvation of souls.  St. Francis of Assisi also burned with love for God so much that he actually bore the wounds of love, the Stigmata, on his body.  We are also called to be transformed by God's burning love.  It is especially by receiving Jesus in Holy Communion that we experience the spiritual fire of God consuming us.  Have a great day!

Heaven ROCKS! to Be Re-Released

Good morning!  We have decided to re-release Cyndie's book Heaven ROCKS! which is about her near-death experience at age 13.  We will have the cover re-designed and put into place a proper marketing plan with the help of an expert in marketing named Penny.  It is a powerful spiritual journey and easy to read.  In a couple of weeks we will be talking a little about it as well as our group the Missionaries of Merciful Love at our prayer meeting at St. Francis de Sales church in Burnaby, BC  We will offer for sale Cyndie's book as well as my book, A Year of Merciful Love and also some of our music CDs.

Yesterday we gave another box of items to a local charity, thus simplifying our space.  We have more to give away in time.  It feels great to help the poor and get more space in our condo at the same time.  I am continuing to compose music on my classical guitar for our upcoming Blood and Water album, which will likely come out sometime in 2019.  I am also busy singing in care homes.  We have confirmed our Song of the Lamb concert at St. Peter's church in New Westminster for Saturday, October 20, 6:30 pm,  330 Royal Ave.,  Free admission.  See our Song of the Lamb website to hear our music www.songofthelamb.net

Radical Shifts - Memoir of Pete Mason

Cyndie and I are editing my memoir, which is now called Radical Shifts.  I am enjoying the writing process and seeing how God has led me in my vocation to a life of merciful love.  We  are planning to publish the book on February 22, 2019, the feast of the Chair of St. Peter, Apostle.  It will be a paperback and e-book and audio book.

The photo above will be the cover photo.  It was taken in Penetanguishene, Ontario.  I am holding a wood cross I made from the site where the Canadian martyrs died for their faith.  Cyndie's dad lives there and many of her relatives, aunts and uncles and cousins.  I have created a new personal website at www.petemason.org  There you can read my testimony and get my free e-book Spiritual Weapons and also the ebook Prayer for the Renewal of the Church.

I will soon be recording the first song for our Blood and Water album.  I play the song on classical guitar.  We will use our home studio to save on recording costs.  The title of the first song is Consuming Fire.  Our God is a consuming fire, Scripture says.  The song also has the line "God is love."  We are also building a new website for Cyndie but it is not up and running yet.  We have a new Director for the MML (Missionaries of Merciful Love) in Nigeria:   Fr. Chris Princewill.  He will help organize the inquirers, novices and members of the MML in that part of the world.

Have a great day!

Blood and Water Album

Greetings!  Today I will be recording a song for our Blood and Water album called Consuming Fire.  I will play it on the classical guitar.  We have a home studio in our condo and will use Garage Band on Cyndie's Mac laptop.  I have a solo concert today in Langley at 2:30 pm.  We will hopefully make a holy hour of Eucharistic adoration tonight at Corpus Christi church in Vancouver.

The Lord calls us to be holy as he is holy.  Jesus calls us to be perfect as the Heavenly Father is perfect.  This means we must let go of our attachment to all sin, even venial sin, if we wish to arrive at spiritual perfection and complete sanctity.  The saints, like St. Faustina, St. Therese and St. Francis of Assisi and St. Catherine of Siena, all lived a live of prayer, penance and holiness.

We heard from a man in the Philippines who asked us to send him 10 MML promotional posters, so I had them printed at Staples and we designed them ourselves.  It would be great to see the Missionaries of Merciful Love take root in the Philippines.  One of my sister-in-laws is from the Philippines, Manila.   Cyndie has visited there and I would love to visit sometime.

Have a great day!

Greetings!  We are happy to announce that we will have a Song of the Lamb concert at St. Peter's parish in New Westminster on October 13th at 7 pm.  I have to confirm the date today.  Free admission.  We will play all original Christian songs.  I have a concert today in South Delta in the Tswwassen area.  Tonight we will attend the St. Francis de Sales charismatic prayer meeting at 7:30 pm.  We are called by our MML rule to renew the church through prayer, fasting and witness.  Prayer and fasting drives away the evil one and brings us closer to the Lord.

We defeat satan through prayer, fasting and the witness of our life and testimony of how Jesus saved us from our sins.  One good fast is on bread and water on Wednesdays and Fridays. Tomorrow we will make a holy hour of Eucharistic adoration at our parish after the morning mass.  As Missionaries of Merciful Love we are called to, if possible, make a holy hour every week at an adoration chapel.  We are blessed to have a chapel of adoration at Corpus Christi parish in Vancouver, a short drive for us.

In September Cyndie and I will resume editing my memoir, Merciful Love in My Life.  I am hoping to publish it some time in 2019 as a paperback, e-book and audio book.  The paperback will sell for $15 plus $3 shipping.  email us at info@mysticalroseproductions.com if you would like to get on our mailing list and be informed when the book is ready to buy.

God bless you!

Welcome to my Blog!

Welcome to my new blog!  Today is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  She was taken up, body and soul, into Heaven where she reigns as Queen of Heaven, Queen of Angels and Saints and our Queen.

Today I have a concert in Burnaby. Tonight we are having our friend Jewel Jasmins over for supper.  She has been a friend of mine for many years, going back to the time when I was with the Secular Franciscan order at St. Francis of Assisi church in Vancouver.

I am building our music site for Song of the Lamb, our acoustic duo.   The website is www.songofthelamb.net  There is not much of anything on the site right now but stay tuned.

Have a great day!
